In early 2008 Ohio was selected to be a SpecialQuest State Leadership Team by the SpecialQuest Birth–Five: Head Start/Hilton Foundation Training Program

Ohio's Vision for SpecialQuest:

Our vision for the next three years is that greater numbers of early care and education professionals in all settings would gain knowledge, confidence and competence in serving young children with disabilities and their families in inclusive settings as a result of the commitment and efforts of local professional development providers to develop effective cross-agency communication, planning and collaboration.

Who Makes Up Ohio's State Leadership Team?

We have included on this team: parents of children with special needs ages birth through preschool age, representatives from the Head Start State Collaboration Office, Ohio Departments of Education, Job and Family Services, Health, Mental Retardation and Development Disabilities, Mental Health, Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association, Higher Education institutions, advocates, and three of Ohio's Special Quest Ambassadors.

The SpecialQuest Website contains information on several topics including details on the program—both current and past, on-line discussion forums, the complete SpecialQuest training materials on early childhood inclusion (SpecialQuest Multimedia Training Library), and links to the monthly newsletter.
